Data Portal

The NBERT building has capabilities in monitoring and gathering long term data for a range of parameters relating to energy and environmental performance. Data relating to energy and environmental systems is collected from a Cylon Building Management System (BMS) while data relating to the internal environment is collected from a Hanwell wireless data logging system. The BMS gathers data on internal air temperatures, energy consumption for general services, lighting, and energy consumption of the buildings Air Source Heat Pump. It also measures the position of actuators for the Multi Configuration Slotted Louvre ventilation system in the building. Externally, NBERT has an on-site weather station located on top of the building at a height of five metres above roof level. Static data sets have been published to the NBERT online Data Portal. The data portal currently contains four years of data from 2013-2016 and there are three main data types:

  • Weather data

  • Internal Environmental data

  • Energy data

The NBERT data portal currently allows users to execute a number of functions. It is tailored for students and researchers who need empirical data for education and research purposes. It is designed to compliment the details in the NBERT information portal whereby all background information for a particular dataset is also available. The data portal allows users to:

  • View NBERT data in graphical and tabular forms

  • Download data from the NBERT database

  • Upload and compare their data to NBERT data
